"Port Of Atlantis"
"Port of Atlantis" is a new piece inspired by my fool-hardy fascination with all things ancient and very hard to find. (Thus my obsession with gemstones.) When I first saw the pendant that is the focal point for this piece, I knew I had to have it. It stood out in a literal sea of other Larimar pendants, and that is something very hard to do since Larimar is such a beautiful and unusual stone. The pendant reminded me of an illustration I had once seen of the lost city/island of Atlantis. It is handwrapped in sterling silver wire by the person I purchased it from. The Amber in this piece gets its coloring from being under saltwater for millions of years. The Larimar nuggets reminded me of bubbles coming up from ocean floor. Larimar is a rare stone found only in the Dominican Republic.
